just this very morning, i awoke to the crisp fresh air wafting thru the bunk. it was a sweet savour, distinct yet pleasant. an orange hue blazed across the sky, with crimson clouds welcoming the lovely day with a subtle smile. i took a deep breath and yawned, it was book out day. the feeling was good, very good. and the very thought of knowing you'll be in the soft comfort of home in a mere couple of hours is analogous to that of salt to bland fries. a simple recollection of the past week whizzed through my mind, and with the mild churning of the fan overhead, images of the 2.4km run juxtaposed itself upon the 8 mile walk back home. both taxing, yet of different nature. a glance across the bunk, my buddies still stirring in their sleep and perhaps a few more minutes and their visual perspective will be brought back into reality, back from the depths of fantasy dreams and what have you. the bed felt unusually soft, the blanket warm, didnt seem like a normal training day. but still things needed to be done, things needed to get into gear, and things dont wait for no one.

inevitability. for every winner there is a loser. for every red lightsabre there exists a blue/green one. and for every promising book out, there would be a demoralizing book in.

and its this inevitability we all have to face.
